By August 1961 only about a dozen ‘King Arthurs’ remained serviceable on the Southern Region and some of these were not in use. Late survivor No 30796 ‘Sir Dodinas le Savage’ brings duty 393 through Clapham Jct on 19th August. This engine was withdrawn the following February.
