Ex-Great Wesern Railway Collett '5100' class 2-6-2 Tank No. 4103. Built at Swindon in August 1935 and withdrawn in September 1964.

There is much to appreciate in this lovely study of 4103 arriving with a Down train at Taunton in April 1962. Observe the signals with finials intact, the workman's 'bothy', period signage, a porter's trolley and a crewman keeping a sharp eye out as he enters the station. The cleanliness of everything in this exceptionally tidy scene is a credit to the station staff, perhaps only the errant barrel on the right could be regarded as an exception!
