A delightfully clear image of 6002 " King William IV " just three months after a Heavy General Overhaul at Swindon whilst allocated to Plymouth's Laira depot and prior to transfer to Old Oak Common in late 1960.The engine is in its final form with high superheated boiler, its mechanical lubricator situated in front of the steam pipe and new front frames and inside cylinder block with which it would have been fitted during an earlier Heavy General Overhaul probably in November 1955.Although receiving a Heavy Casual Overhaul in Swindon very late in its lifetime in 1962 the engine was condemned in September of that same year.
