6002 1959-06-27 Dawlish
Waiting to see which King is working the Cornish Riviera Express today. A "King" always looked its best when seen " Head On " as in this splendid shot, with 6002, " King William IV " bringing the Paddington bound " Cornish Riviera " out from Kennaway Tunnel and past Marine Parade here on the approach to Dawlish station.
Judging by the packed car park and the number of interested spectators it must be holiday time, and 6002 would have not have been assisted from Plymouth to Newton Abbot as the load is at the ten coach limit for an unassisted " King " over the South Devon banks.
A lovely shot, bringing back memories of holidays at this location, with its many attractions.
