6015 1962 Saunderton bank

Peter Kerslake says "Our cameraman has got some company here at Saunderton on the Paddington to Birmingham main line, a location where the up and down lines are split on different levels and running some way apart from each other.
6015 King Richard III in its final year of service, had been the first of the class to receive a sheet steel fabricated design of double chimney in September 1955 during a lengthy spell in Swindon Works, returning into traffic late that month and immediately recording speeds of in excess of 100mph on the 'Cornish Riviera'.
Although that original double chimney design was later fitted to twelve more 'Kings' a more pleasing design came into being from November 1956 with the whole class eventually having the later design fitted as they passed through Swindon Works. Withdrawn fom Stafford Road Depot in September 1962 this engine was one of those disposed of by Cox and Danks at Langley Green."
