6015 1960s Royal Oak

6015 1960s Royal Oak

No. 6015 King Richard III in the early 1960s at Royal Oak. It was allocated to Old Oak Common throughout apart from the last three months in service when it was transferred to Wolverhampton Stafford Road; the double chimney was fitted in September 1955. Behind No. 6015 is the former GWR Muniment Store, later the home of the British Transport Commission Historical Records; both it and the building to its left survive today.
