Wolverhampton Stafford Road's 6011 " King James I " emerges from Paddington's departure platform 3 passing beneath Bishop's Road Bridge at the head of what is doubtless a Birmingham and Woverhampton line working. 6011 was one of the " Kings " which did not receive new front frames and the incorporated new inside cylinder block as not all the class were so treated in the early ' fifties, and so retains the original style of inside valve spindle covers seen clearly in ths view. Allocated from new in 1928 to Old Oak Common " King James I " was to spend the wartime years at Bristol Bath Road and again at Old Oak before being reshedded to Stafford Road in 1946 remaining there until moving back to Old Oak Common in late 1962 from where it was withdrawn in December and cut up in Swindon's infamous " C " shop.
