6002 1959-06-27 Sonning Cutting
GWR King 4-6-0 No 6002 King William IV in Sonning cutting with the up Cornish Riviera Express (067) on 27 June 1959.
Peter Kerslake says "A splendid portrait of 6002 'King William IV' heading the 'Cornish Riviera' through Sonning cutting which it would have worked from Plymouth North Road. At this date 6002 was just five days at its new home at Plymouth's Laira depot, remaining there until returning to Old Oak Common again in September of 1960 before ending its days at Wolverhampton in September of 1962.
As well as seeing service from those three principal depots 6002 enjoyed brief spells housed at Exeter and Newton Abbot in 1938 during its 35 years in service."
