92206 1962c Eastleigh
Seen here on Southern Region metals at Eastleigh in or around 1962 this view is probably after 92206 had ended her two years working the Somerset and Dorset line from Bath Motive Power Depot , to where , in company with 92203 ,92204 and 92205 she had been allocated in June 1960 following trials earlier in the March of that year with 92204 . Heavy through holiday passenger workings during earlier Summer Service periods between the North and the South Coast resorts over the Somerset and Dorset line had invariably demanded Double Heading between Bath and Bournemouth , and it was in an effort to reduce such duties that the Standards were deployed from Bath Depot for the 1960 Summer Timetable rosters , the engines remaining on such duties until the end of the 1962 Summer Services when all such through workings were routed away to run via Banbury , Oxford and Basingstoke.
