92220 1964-03-22 Swindon Works

92220 1964-03-22 Swindon Works

The special builders plate has already been removed. Evening Star's short spell allocated to Bath Motive Power Depot , and her working on the Somerset and Dorset line came to an end in 1963 when , following her taking the last Pines Express southwards from Bath on that route on Saturday the 8th . September 1962 and a few months rostered on local passenger workings she was returned to her former home at Cardiff East Dock . 92220 would seem from this view to have gone through Swindon Works in early 1964 , and I photographed her in one of Swindon shed's Roundhouses on 6th . October 1964 when the commemorative smoke deflector plates would appear to have been replaced . 92220 was returned home to Cardiff following this spell in Swindon but was condemned from there in March 1965, being taken to Severn Tunnel Junction, complete with accident damage sustained at East Dock , but not destined to the breakers' yards as she was later repaired and restored at Crewe in 1967 .
