92220 1962-05-30 Rumney River Bridge

BR 9F 2-10-0 No 92220 Evening Star with the 6.10 Up Regent oil tanks to Soho at Rumney River Bridge on 30 May 1962.

Peter Kerslake says "Local and renowned cameraman Robert Tuck is at one of his favourite locations here on the outskirts of Cardiff and has recorded "Evening Star" with an impressive rake of oil tank wagons during the engine's final year allocated to Canton depot.
Following its exploits on the Somerset and Dorset line later in the September of that year 92220 was reallocated to Cardiff East Dock, Canton having closed on the 13th. September 1962, but it was condemned from East Dock in early 1965 following an accident on shed, was towed to Severn Tunnel Junction and two years later finally made it to Crewe where it was restored for preservation."
