L&YR 826 1890s Blackburn
The woeful state of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway's locomotive roster were rescued by the arrival of William Barton Wright in November 1875 and who (by no mean achievement) left his successor, Sir John Aspinall with a fine, modern and reliable fleet by June 1887. Here is a fine view of No. 826 a '6ft. 0in.' 4-4-0 at Blackburn Station in the 1890s.
