On Webeck-Northfleet MGR.David J Hayes adds As mentioned elsewhere, this 6O62 Welbeck to Northfleet cement works Merry-Go-Round (MGR) coal service was booked to traverse the southern section of the West Coast Main Line (WCML) to reach London, which was probably accessed at Northampton (having travelled via the line from Market Harborough) or possibly even at Bletchley (having travelled via the line from Bedford) and would thus explain the West London Line routing. These MGR workings had only just commenced operating as the Northfleet plant had only just opened that year (1970). Such workings were later routed across London from the Midland Main Line by using the Cricklewood to Kew axis via Acton Wells Junction
