David J. Hayes says "It would seem that the routing of these long-distance MGR coal turns from the Notts coalfield to North Kent via the West London Line was a short-lived arrangement, as by May 1971 they were crossing the capital via Acton Wells Junction (AWJ) having reached London by way of the Midland Main Line to Cricklewood.
Thus, as of May 1971, the 6O62 service seen here was shown as the 10:26 departure from Welbeck, reaching London around 17:30 and recessing at Brent South Sidings until 18:20 (no doubt to avoid the evening commuter rush hour congestion on the Southern Region) before continuing via AWJ to join Southern Region territory at Kew. I'm guessing Northfleet would have been reached around 8pm or perhaps even later."
