40 wagon MGR trains from Welbeck Colliery brough pairs of Toton allocated Brush type 4's to London.David J Hayes adds The 6O62 Welbeck to Northfleet cement works MGR coal service. These were booked to be re-engine and re-manned at Toton Yard, where an examination also took place before continuing the long journey to North Kent. At the time of this picture, this service was being routed to London via the southern section of the West Coast Main Line, which was probably accessed at Northampton (having travelled via the line from Market Harborough) or possibly even at Bletchley (having travelled via the line from Bedford) and would thus explain the West London Line routing. These MGR workings had only just commenced operating as the Northfleet plant had only just opened that year (1970). Such workings were later routed across London from the Midland Main Line by using the Cricklewood to Kew axis via Acton Wells Junction
