Peter Kerslake says "Unusually, the Shedmaster or Running Forman at Old Oak Common has put Laira's 5069 Isambard Kingdom Brunel on this working to Kingswear, the '146' Reporting Number having been that of the 12 noon 'Torbay Express' a year or so earlier. These Torbay line duties were usually worked by Old Oak or Newton Abbot Castles."
