7823 1963c Llwyngwil
7823 " Hook Norton Manor " had been a Cornish engine shedded at Truro in the years before transfer to the Cambrian system from where she worked in company with others of her class until being condemned from Tyseley in July of 1964 , sadly not being one of the " Manors " to be saved for preservation .
This view from here at LLwyngwril station at its Barmouth end is looking southwards down to Towyn and Dovey Junction so 7823 is heading a passenger working northwards on the " down " line towards Barmouth , doubtless destined for the terminus at Pwllheli and appears to be taking water on what is most probably a working from Paddington which the " Manor " has doubtless taken onwards from Shrewsbury , possibly the down " Cambrian Coast Exoress ".
With no footbridge, passengers changing platforms were required to use the wooden walkway seen in this view.
A substantial water tower and tank is on the banking just out of view to the left of this photograph , and there were water columns as seen here and also at the station's other end as well .
