Ex-LNER Gresley 'D49' or 'Hunt' class 4-4-0 No. 62749 'The Fitzwilliam'. Built at Darlington in Sept. 1934 as LNER No. 359 and withdrawn in Jan.1961. It was only by studying the posters on the BR noticeboard, that the date of this fine photograph was confirmed as October 1953. 'The Fitzwillam' acellerates away from Hull with a 5-coach 'local' train. We are indeed fortunate to have a 'D49' in preservation.
