The arrival of the disfiguring overhead catenary is already underway in 1951 at Guide Bridge Station in Lancashire. LNER designed Thompson 'B1' 61317 arrives, passing some very 'chunky' ex-GCR signals with fine finials intact. It was built by NBL of Glasgow in May 1948 and was withdrawn in Sept. 1962.
