On Sunday 23rd June 1957 ran its 'Yorkshire Coast' railtour visiting many locations that would see closure in coming years. Here is ex-LNER Gresley D49/1 No. 62731 'Selkirkshire' at the ex-NER Gilling Station. Gilling had already closed to regular passenger services in 1953 but freight traffic continued until final closure in July 1964. 62731 was built at Darlington in Mar. 1929 as LNER No. 2756 and was withdrawn in Apr.1959.
