The lonely cottages at Thurmanby Hill in North Yorkshire are on the ex-NER route between Pilling and Malton that was closed in 1964 after a long period of declining traffic. Ex-LNER Gresley 'D49/1' class 4-4-0 No. 62735 'Westmorland' has its exhaust caught by a wintry wind as it heads west towards Pilmoor on an unknown date in the 1950s.
