Ex-Southern Railway Bulleid 'West Country' class 4-6-2 No. 34017 'Ilfracombe' Built At Brighton in Dec. 1945 as SR No. 21C117, rebuilt in Nov. 1957 with conventional valve gear and modified outline. Withdrawn in Oct. 1966. The shadows on the embankment and a fine exhaust make for a lovely scene. This is the 11.35am Victoria - Ramsgate east of Herne Bay near the top of Blacksole Bank in Kent during March 1957.
