NER 593 1910s York MPD

NER 593 1910s York MPD

North Eastern Railway Fletcher '398' class 0-6-0 No. 593. Built prior to 1893 and withdrawn in 1913. Unidentified Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Aspinall 'Flier' class 4-4-0, NER Tennant '1463' (LNER 'E5') class 2-4-0 No. 1475. Built at Gateshead in June 1885 and withdrawn in January 1928 as LNER No. 1475. NER Worsdell 'P2' (LNER 'J26') class 0-6-0 No. 1678. Built at Datlington in December 1904 and withdrawn in January 1959 as BR No. 65748.

Quite a line-up inside York MPD sees not only the expected NER classes of the 1910s era depicted but an Aspinall L&YR visitor in the camp. The 'Flier' demonstrates the identity disadvantage of not having a number displayed on either the smokebox door or the bufferbeam!
