NER 505 1922-06 Whitby

North Eastern Railway W. Worsdell 'O' (LNER 'G5') class 0-4-4 Tank No. 505. Built at Darlington in September 1896 and withdrawn in November 1952 as BR No. 67276.

It is not beyond the realms of probability that this June 1922 scene of 505 on a 'local' at Whitby could be quite faithfully recreated within a very few years. A 'new build' 'G5' 0-4-4 Tank (becoming the 111th of the class) is in an advanced stage of contruction and the NYMR has running rights from Pickering via Grosmont into Whitby. Now wouldn't that be something?
