GNR 847 1894 Crouch End
Great Northern Railway Stirling '322' class 0-6-0 No. 847. Built at Doncaster in January 1892 and withdrawn in June 1921.
The ubiquitous 'Hudson's Soap' enamel advertising signs adorn the abutments as immaculately turned out and well-coaled 847 heads a short freight near Crouch End, Haringey in 1894. The crew seem determined to be included in the shot and this may well be a pre-arranged photograph.
