4920 1960c Bath Spa

4920 ' Dumbleton Hall' is carying an improvised Reporting Number in this view which looks to be' 108' and as such might be a relief to the 7.30.a.m. from Paddington to Paignton and Torquay which she will in all probability work through to Newton Abbot. 4920 survived in service right until the end of Western Region steam and was photographed by myself at Gloucester on 4th. January , 1965 when she was then the oldest' Hall' surviving in service, albeit in a pretty poor state. As the result of funds raised by the sale of prints of a painting by the artist Don. Breckon 4920 was saved from the breakers' yard and was restored at Buckfastleigh , where she can be found today although no longer in working order. From the clean appearance of the smokebox door it looks as though she's been through Works recently.
