4920 1961 St Blazey shed

4920 1961 St Blazey shed

4920 , " Dumbleton Hall " survived right to the end of Western Steam in 1965 , being the sole survivor of the early batch of " Halls " , and consequently being the oldest of those of the whole class remaining in service at that late date , seeing out her last days in and around Gloucester .
Purchased by funds raised from the sale of prints of railway artist Don Breckon of the engine leaving Kingswear , and thus escaping the cutters ' torches , 4920 was restored and worked on a number of Heritage Railway lines and can presently be seen awaiting her turn for further restoration at Buckfastleigh in Devon.
