On 12th June 1954, Great Northern Rly. (Ireland) George Glover 'V' class 3-cyl. compound 4-4-0 No. 87 'Kestrel' is ready to depart from Amiens Street Station in Dublin with an express for Belfast. One of a five-strong class, it had been built by Beyer Peacock in 1932 and was withdrawn in 1960. Sister engine No. 85 'Merlin' is preserved.
