The Great Northern Railway (Ireland) had been a pioneer in the development and use of railbuses, railcars and DMUs many being built at their Dundalk Works in Co.Louth, Eire. This is GNR "Railcar E" built by Dundalk works in 1938 with a Gardner engine. It went to CIE when the GNR was disolved and was withdrawn in January 1960. In June 1954 it was at Dundalk Works.
