CIE 186 1954-06 Wexford MPD
This fine railway and seascape panorama from aloft was taken in June 1954 at Wexford MPD in Eire. It features one of the ex-Great Southern & Western Railway McDonnell '101' or 'J15' class 0-6-0s, in this instance No. 186. This locomotive was built by Sharp, Stewart & Co. in 1879 and was withdrawn in 1964 to be preserved as the only surviving member of this numerous (111 were built) and highly successful class.
n.b. Apologies for any errors in this description. Irish railways are not my strong point but I have tried to provide correct details where known!
