CIE 295 1954-06-15 Limerick MPD

As a Yorkshireman, I am always pleased to see a Kitson-built locomotive. In this instance, it's an ex-Waterford, Limerick & Western Rly. 'E2' class 0-4-4 Tank built at Leeds in 1895. Pictured in June 1954 at Limerick MPD in Eire and now numbered as CIE No. 295, she would be withdrawn later in 1954. At the time of its building, John Robinson later of Great Central Railway fame, was the WL&WR's locomotive superintendent.
n.b. Apologies for any errors in this description. Irish railways are not my strong point but I have tried to provide correct details where known!
