9015 1957-08-24 Moat Lane

Dukedog No 9015 waits at Moat Lane with a pick-up goods on 24th August 1957.
Peter Kerslake says " 9015 was allocated the name "Earl of Clancarty" when built but did not actually bear those nameplates which went to "Castle" 5058 which was renamed from "Newport Castle" in September 1937 as from July of that year those in authority at Paddington had decreed that all those twelve "Dukedogs" which carried "Earl" nameplates would have them removed and no more would be used, apparently following objections from a few named gentry who did not appreciate their names appearing on what was in their eyes just an outdated freight design."
