CR 123, NBR 256 1959-09-05 Dumfries
A long distance special train was run on 5th September 1959 in association with the Scottish Industries Exhibition (3rd-19th September).
Locomotives used were Nos 123 and 256. The route was Carlisle (8am)-Kilmarnock-Barrhead-Glasgow Central (10.51am) and return. Here, the outward train is seen at Dumfries. The return trip left Glasgow Central at 6.42pm, arriving Carlisle at 9.37pm.
