6008 1956 Plymouth

6008 1956 Plymouth

This is a Saturday during the Summer Workings, probably 1956 and Laira 's 6008, " King James II " pilots a " Britannia" through Mutley Cutting into Plymouth North Road with the 10:35.a.m. relief from Paddington to the down "Cornish Riviera". 6008 has worked the 10:30 a.m.departure, the" Riviera" itself from Paddington to Newton Abbot and has come on to this relief there as the "Riviera" did not stop at Plymouth on Summer Saturdays.
6008's fireman has correctly removed the 130 Reporting Number from its frame, together with the headboard.
This viewpint is now ruined by the presence of a carpark which has been built from the tunnel mouth and which extends down way past my view on the extreme right.
This Summer Saturdays working often resulted in a double headed "King" working, but not on this day!
