Just like their English counterparts the Scottish Directors suffered a slow and painful end, being stored for prolonged periods. 62693 had been at Polmont since April 1959 and was there until the autumn of 1961 when it moved to Boness dump. Strangely it had been officially re-allocated to Haymarket whilst there. Withdrawal came whilst at Boness dump in November 1961. I guess they could do nothing that a Black Five could equally perform........
