I'm not sure if the gentlemen walking along the track are railwaymen or railway enthusiasts. Either way, the lack of 'hi-viz' clothing in the 1970s would raise more than just eyebrows in today's H&S culture! The former D371 now TOPS 40171 passes Manchester Victoria East Junction with a hopper train.
