This loco had an interesting history after being discarded by BR(W). Withdrawn in February 1963 at Laira and stored there for 9 months. Sold to Cashmores Newport in October 1963 - the sales 'ticket' can be seen tied round the cab handrail (the usual place) in this picture. However it was sent to Swindon in January 1964 arriving there in February. It then sat around the works before finally being sent to Newport in June 1964. It was last seen intact at Newport in October of that year.
