From 1/7/51 No 61445 was the sole B16 Scarborough resident, but was condemned at Darlington 10 years later on 4/7/61. A month later its boiler and smokebox were still intact at the scrapyard, possibly being held for re-use. B16s and Q7s (LNER batch) used the same boiler, and at this time the Q7s were all still hard at work -though not for much longer.
