1455 1920s Where?

1455 1920s Where?

This is undoubtedly one of my favourite photographs. Ex-North Stafford Railway, Luke Longbottom 'A' (LMS '1P') class 2-4-2 Tank No. 1455 is skipping along a (sadly) anonymous section of the WCML with its delightfully mixed rake of stock. I consider myself very fortunate to have the original negative in my archive. SIt was built at Stoke in 1881 as a 2-4-0 No. 35 and was rebuilt in 1899 as NSR No. 35 and was withdrawn in Oct. 1932. The first van is of Caley origin, followed by coaches built by the LNWR, MR and LYR companies
