A delightful portrait taken in August 1937 at the former London, Tilbury & Southend Railway's shed at Plaistow. This elegant 'Modified 79' class of Atlantic Tanks had been designed by Robert Whitelegg of the LT&SR and was perpetuated by the LMS. This 1930 Derby-built example was withdrawn (after a long period out of use) in February 1955 as BR No. 41972.
