7811 1959-07-29 Aberystwyth
No.7811 Dunley Manor departs from Aberystwyth with the ‘Cambrian Coast Express’ to Paddington past the former Cambrian Aberystwyth Signal Box on 29th July 1959. The mid-1950s saw the new British Railways Mark I coaches in use on the principal expresses, with ‘chocolate and cream’ sets employed on the ‘Cambrian Coast Express’ from 1957. The signal box was closed in April 1982.
Peter Kerslake says "7811 was one of the less photographed of the class which worked the Cambrian."
