Peter Kerslake says "Newton Abbot's stalwart 4037 still has the Regimental Crest on the intermediate splasher although both crests seem to have gone missing during its final years in service. Rebuilt in June 1926 from 'Star' class Queen Philippa, 4037 was condemned from Exeter depot in September 1962 after being credited with running almost two and a half million miles."
