Passing the M&E crane yard

What a fine overhead view of Swindon in its heyday taken from some form of lofty perch with a splendid array of breakdown cranes together with a mixed variety of wagons all of which would today delight those who understand such things .

The massive Works buildings are in the right background and there would certainly have been lines of locomotives within the Works yards and all visible from the windows of this passing express a few moments earlier.
Happy days !
