5034 1956-05-19 Teignmouth
At 1.20.p.m. or so on Whit. Saturday, 29/5/1956 Old Oak's 5034 "Corfe Castle" is on the sea wall at Teignmouth with the second part and relief to the up "Cornish Riviera" bound for Paddington.
She's running about 20 minutes behind 6008 0n the "main " train, which would have left Plymouth at 12.15.p.m. thirty minutes ahead of the relief.
5034 would have come on at Plymouth, and would probably have had a "pilot" engine from there to Newton Abbot as her load looks to be too heavy for an unassisted "Castle" over the South Devon banks. 5034's train is the 0945am from Penzance.
