5057 1960s Reading
I always tried to take pictures above track level , and I love this one of 5057 , "Earl Waldegrave " taken from a splendidly high vantage point here at Reading which sums up the scene so very well . I recall 5057 was often to be seen down in Plymouth in the mid ' fifties , and I thought she may have been a Laira engine for a while in company with her sister engine 5058 , " Earl of Clancarty " although my 1956 shed book shows her as belonging to Bristol Bath Road , from she later went to Banbury and later Old Oak Common.
