What a splendid shot of' Dudley Castle' at Bath , beautifully turned out from Swindon Works and resplendent in new colours and'Running In' on a stopping passenger turn , probably working just between Bristol and Swindon. Everyone has got into this absolutely first class shot , the fireman is on the footplate whilst his driver has had a quick check round and three schoolboys, in regulation school garb , are also ensuring that they get into the act as well. This picture reminds me of the many taken here by the late and renowned Railway Photographer Kenneth Leech, as this location , together with Chippenham, were favourites of his for such pictures and he always got the footplate crew into his shots , but he knew them all anyway !
