5079 1956-05-19 Teignmouth

Peter Kerslake's shot of 5079 , "Lysander" a Newton Abbot engine has her passing Sprey Point , on the approach to Teignmouth with the down "Cornishman" , running daily from Wolverhampton to Penzance. The engine will have worked through from Bristol Temple Meads , doubtless relieving a Wolverhampton Stafford Road engine there , and if my memory is correct may well possibly work past its home town and run right down to Penzance , as I don't think that this duty involved an engine change at either Newton Abbot or at Plymouth.
