5059 1962c Chester
Earl St.Aldwyn on a local
A really nice portrait of 5059 , " Earl St Aldwyn " at Chester , the engine having been reallocated to Shrewsbury from Wolverhampton Stafford Road in June , 1959 .
This view must be earlier than June of 1962 as that month saw the engine being condemned , 5059 having been one of Newton Abbot's allocation of well maintained " Castles " in its earlier years , working from there to Bristol as well as to Paddington on express passenger rosters before its move to Stafford Road from its former Westcountry home in 1958 .
