Reallocated to Bristol Bath Road from Laira in 1956 or thereabouts , 5057 , " Earl Waldegrave " seems to have been thereafter used often on the services operating via the Avon Valley line down to the South Coast from South Wales and Bristol that route coming off the Bristol to Paddington line at Bathampton before running down via Bradford on Avon and Westbury.
By the look of the stock formation in this view I think it probable that 5057 is shown here on that Avon Valley line , rather than on a main line Paddington duty .
