Great Western Railway designed Hawksworth 'Modified Hall' class 4-6-0 No. 7922 'Salford Hall'. Built at Swindon in September 1950 and withdrawn in December 1963.
The GWR legacy lasted well into the BR era with many pre-nationalisation designs continuing to be built at Swindon. BR-built 'Salford Hall' bowls along in fine style, it has left Gobowen station for the south and is passing the first bridge, which is the bridge to the Orthopaedic Hospital. The goal post visible to the right is in an area shown on the old maps as a sports pitch. The signals visible are those of Gobowen South.
